Musical Musings on Working ParenthoodBack

A Concert for Your Next Company Event

As a prominent New York performer, award-winning songwriter, educator, mother, and company owner, Tina Devaron offers a dynamic program of concerts on the subject of work-life balance. Her audiences span both the corporate and nonprofit worlds: from Chase, Lancôme, and Working Mother Media, to The Child Development Center of New York City. Called “brilliant, funny, and wise,” by best-selling author Anne Lamott and “the soundtrack of my life” by New York Times columnist Lisa Belkin, Tina’s original music from the popular CDs If Mama Ain’t Happy and Water Over Stones is being developed into a Broadway play with a Tony-award-winning cast. The songs engage the emotions, as in her ballad “Come Home to Me,” and provoke helpless laughter, as in “Gravity,” a gospel tune about the effects of you-know-what. Along with the songs, Tina gives snapshots of her life as a working mother and customizes each set list to address the needs and concerns of parents of each company’s workforce. Audiences particularly enjoy her ability to write impromptu songs with suggestions from the participants, and, if desired, she will devise a personalized lyric as a tribute to your guest of honor or keynote speaker.

DeVaron’s songs range from rollicking, bluesy funk, to edgy jazz, to pop anthems that get crowds on their feet. To back up her powerful singing and virtuoso jazz piano playing, Tina travels with a trio of accomplished musicians and can expand or contract her band as needed.

With her sophisticated and moving music, deVaron illuminates, ultimately, what an enormous gift it is to be raising children, to be in relationships, and to have fulfilling work.

A Princeton grad, Tina deVaron honed her jazz skills playing Cole Porter’s piano at the Waldorf. While raising two sons, she has enjoyed chart-topping success as a songwriter, developed a Broadway musical, and capitalized her LLC to share her visionary motherhood songs with parents throughout the world. Tina’s current smash engagement at the Carlyle Hotel’s Madeline’s Tea was featured on CBS TV’s Family First and ABC’s Eyewitness News.
